Mission Partners International

Mission Partners International Mission Partners International, or MPI has been in the city of London since 1995. We are a small but mighty mission’s agency with a passion to reach the lost overseas and a calling to encourage believers here at home in Canada in their own walk with God by sharing our experiences. We pray that as we do so, Canadian believers will expand their own worldview and develop their own passion for people who are lost and in need of hope.

Today, in 2019, we work in the countries of Ukraine and Belarus, two countries that even today, after 25 years of democracy and freedom continue to suffer incredible poverty, political upheaval and hunger for the gospel. So, we do whatever we can to bring hope into lives that desperately need Christ.

As a part of a larger community of Christian agencies and churches here in London, I trust that there is one thing we can all agree on. That is the foundational truth of the Gospel of Christ, the message that Christ died for us while we were yet sinners. Throughout the city of London, there are many churches and agencies that God has established. We all minister to people in different ways, but Jesus Christ should be the underlying tie that binds all of us together. He should be what makes our different callings, missions and programs work together for the collective whole of the Kingdom of God. Christ should be the common thread in the tapestry of our diversity.

Mission Partners International My goal as the leader of Mission Partners is to be like Christ. That means acting with compassion in the face of poverty and suffering. So, many of the things that we do as an agency are humanitarian in nature, like giving out bags of food to those who are hungry or providing blankets to those who are cold. But there is one thing that acts as a a foundation to who we are and why we do anything. That is to bring the common binding thread of Christ into all that we do. This is because I believe that compassion armed with the hope of the Gospel can bring change for eternity.

Mission Partners International I believe it is God’s will for every believer to use their God given gifts to reach the lost. It is the one mission Christ gave us as he left this earth. “Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” Matt 28:19. If we truly want to be Christ followers, I believe we should live as He did and follow His commandments. We should act with compassion to those who are in need and we should make disciples.

I like to research different subjects that I find interesting. One subject that has been playing on the edges of my mind recently is the subject of giving. So, I decided to research the subject of giving. I have only begun my research, but what I have found so far is startling. Research published in academic Psychology journals show that giving of our resources (time or money) to help someone else has some incredible health benefits for the giver. Giving can lower blood pressure, lower stress, lessen the effects of depression, and can lead to a longer life and greater happiness. Giving actually releases endorphins in our brain as well as other feel-good chemicals like serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin.

Even though I am a giver by nature myself I still found this research still surprised me. I think it’s a given that we all understand that giving can give us the “warm fuzzies,” but the long-term health benefits go far beyond that warm glow you get in the moment. God literally designed our bodies to serve and to give. Not only did Christ tell us to go and make disciples, but He modeled for us a life lived with compassion and truth while He was here. God seems to have designed us to be healthier people physically and emotionally when we live by that example. Living a life of compassion for those in need and the truth of the gospel is what I want for my life, and it is my vision for Mission Partners as a ministry.
